Lake Charles Symphony "Fire & Light"

Our season opener features music from the late Classical and early Romantic periods – a time of transformation and upheaval, where art illuminated a rapidly changing world, mirroring shifts in the political and social landscape. This program highlights the works of Weber and Mozart, Beginning with Carl Maria von Weber’s Jubilee Overture and our principal clarinetist, Jan Scott, in a virtuosic performance of Weber’s Concertino. We will follow by performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No.40. “The Great G minor” stands out as one of his most renowned works, often ranked among the top 20 symphonies of all time, with themes that many audience members will instantly recognize.
